Passengers flying Kenya Airways (KQ) to the United Kingdom in a month’s time will choose between a morning and an evening flight, as the airline doubles its flights to London per day.

The two long-haul flights per day which start at the end of October, will see weekly flights between Nairobi and London increase to fourteen from the current ten.

“The airline's customers can now choose between a morning flight via KQ 100 and an evening flight via KQ 102 allowing more travel options, convenience, and flexibility,” KQ said in a statement on Thursday.

KQ100 will be leaving Nairobi every morning, while the KQ102 aircraft will be leaving Nairobi for London in the evening daily. A move that will allow more passengers’ movements between the two countries.

“KQ will deploy the B787 Boeing Dreamliner on the route bringing the total flights per week to 14 up from 10 flights. The additional weekly flights will cater to the increased market demand for this route and growing passenger demand,” KQ told customers.

In December 2022, Kenya Airways (KQ) resumed its daily flights to New York as it moved to cash in on growing demand for air travel on the route, after a blockade owing to the Coronavirus pandemic that nearly halted aviation operations.

Earlier in April 2021, the Philippines, Pakistan, Kenya, and Bangladesh were added to England’s “red list” of countries from which almost all travel was banned.

The additions at the time, took the number of red list countries to 39, as the government was battling to prevent potentially vaccine-resistant variants of Covid-19 from gaining entry into the UK.
