KNCCI CEO Ahmed Farah's five-month tenure comes to an end

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Farah participates in the MSME Policy 2025 Validation Meeting held at Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi on April 16, 2025.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Farah, has left the organisation following a five-month stint.

In a statement, Farah expressed gratitude to the board of directors for the opportunity to advance the chamber's strategic mandate of representing Kenya's business community.

He also lauded his team, alongside a broad network of stakeholders, for their dedication to enhancing the business sector.

Without delving into details, Farah attributed his exit to sharing different perspectives with the board.

"As with many leadership journeys, moments of divergence can shape the way forward. In this case, differing perspectives between myself and the Board of Directors have brought my tenure to a close," the statement read in part.

"I remain optimistic in the Chamber's potential in promoting a resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive economy. With capable leadership and sustained collaboration, I am certain the institution will build upon its solid foundation and continue to deliver meaningful impact for the business community in the country."

Before assuming the KNCCI CEO role, Farah served as the country director for TradeMark Africa in Kenya. Over the years, he has pioneered initiatives under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework, focusing primarily on women and youth entrepreneurs.

He also served on the presidential think tank focused on rebuilding Kenya's economy during the post-COVID era.

Farah holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s in commerce from Kenyatta University.
