KCAA names new Director General as Capt. Kibe exits

The new KCAA Director General Emile Nguza Arao.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has
picked Emile Nguza Arao as its new Director General effective from April 22,
2022.
This follows the completion of a recruitment
exercise by the KCCA board which kicked off on February 1.
Mr. Arao is expected to replace Capt. Gilbert
Kibe who retires from the authority after seven years at the helm.
The new KCAA Director General is currently
the Executive Director at the East African Community’s Civil Aviation Safety
and Security Oversight Agency (EAC-CASSOA).
He is a long-serving aviation expert with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aircraft Engineering Technology and a Master’s
Degree in Business Administration (Aviation).
The departing Capt. Kibe is currently the
Chairman of Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and the
International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Regional Aviation Safety Group
for Africa & Indian Ocean Islands.
