Teacher killed, students injured in road accident in Mombasa

One person has been killed in a road accident in Mombasa County.

The deceased, a teacher at Mikindani Primary School in Jomvu, died in the accident at Maasai area along the Taita Taveta-Mombasa highway.

The accident left two students with serious injuries and ten others with minor injuries.

The teachers and students were returning from a music and drama competition held at Kenyatta School in Voi, Taita Taveta County.

Speaking to the parents of the students at Mikindani Comprehensive School, Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib confirmed that the students had just represented their school in the cultural event when the accident occurred.

The MP expressed deep sorrow over the teacher’s death and assured that he will collaborate with the school and affected families to provide psychological support to those affected.
