The funeral service for Migos rapper Takeoff
will be held on Friday, November 11, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
The ceremony is anticipated to imitate the
rapper’s career by having many attendees flocking State Farm Arena which can
hold more than 20,000 people.
The funeral service will be officiated by
Reverend Jesse Curney III, who is Takeoff’s family’s close prayer partner.
"I am doing a eulogy, it is at State
Farm, and New Mercies choir will be singing,” said Rev Curney during an
interview.
Rev Curney said he was saddened by
Takeoff’s death as he was always devoted to his faith.
"I was really sad to hear the news.
Kirsnick has been a faithful member since he was ten years old. He and his
family were active and avid supporters of the church and the community as a
whole,” said Rev Curney in a statement.
Canadian Singer, Justin Bieber is also set
to perform at the upcoming event.
Even though Bieber and Takeoff never
released a collabo together, Bieber had previously collaborated with the
"Migos band" on the tracks "Looking for You" and "What
You see."
Takeoff’s family and friends had previously
held a candle-lighting ceremony on November 5 in Atlanta.
A 20-second footage from the vigil that
surfaced online showed the friends and family shouting his name then releasing
balloons that spelled out his stage name “TakeOff” into the sky.
TakeOff died on November 1 after being shot
in a crossfire at a private event in Houston.
