Prison warder arrested over murder of Nyeri businessman

A
prison warder has been arrested in connection with the cold-blooded murder of a
Nyeri-based businessman.
The
businessman, Erasmus Iguku, was a renowned electronics dealer who ran several
shops in Nyeri town.
He
is said to have been strangled to death after allegedly being whipped countless
times on the back.
The
warder, Benson Musili, who is based at the King'ong'o GK Prison, is suspected
to have colluded with the deceased’s wife Doris Wambui (48) to effect the
murder that took place on Sunday night.
The
two were arrested on Tuesday at Kivaa area in Masinga, Machakos County, after
two days of trailing by detectives while enroute to an unknown destination to
evade arrest.
While
confirming the incident, Nyeri Central sub-county Police Commander Paul Kuria
said the two are being detained awaiting arraignment.
