Black Stars head coach Iddi Badi has attributed his side’s 1-1 draw against
Naivas to poor finishing, despite what he described as a “dominant performance”
from his team in a National Super League encounter at the weekend.
Speaking
to Citizen Digital after the match,
Badi revealed that the match was played at a high tempo as both sides were
eager to bounce back from defeats in their previous outings.
“The
game was not easy because the opponent was a tough one. We were the better
side, but our strikers wasted many clear chances,” said Badi.
The
coach, was however, pleased with the showing from his defence and midfield,
noting that the two departments have been improving steadily in recent matches.
“Our
backline and midfield have been solid and consistent. They played very well
again,” he added.
Badi
now says his immediate focus is on improving his team’s attacking efficiency
ahead of their upcoming away fixture against Vihiga United next weekend.
“We
must sharpen our striking force. If we convert the chances we create, we can
get better results,” he noted.
Following
the draw, Kibera Black Stars remain eighth on the log with 28 points, while
Naivas are 12th with 23 points as the league campaign continues to gather
momentum.
