Residents in Nairobi will now access land valuation and rates enquiry services closer to their neighbourhoods following a new directive by the Nairobi City County Government to decentralise the services to sub-counties.
In a notice, the county said the move is aimed at improving efficiency, easing congestion at central offices, and enhancing overall service delivery across the city.
Governor Johnson Sakaja said the decision is part of a broader effort to streamline land management services and ensure residents receive timely support on valuation and rates-related matters.
Under the new arrangement, services will be available at several sub-county customer care centres, including Ruai, Dandora, Makadara, Umoja I, and Embakasi East. Residents can now visit these centres for land valuation and rates enquiries without the need to travel to City Hall.
The county has also expanded access by allowing general enquiries at Huduma Centres in Makadara, Eastleigh, and Kibera, further decentralising services to meet growing demand.
Sakaja noted that the initiative is expected to decongest central offices while improving turnaround times for service delivery.
“We encourage residents to take advantage of the newly established service points to access faster and more convenient assistance,” he said.
The county government says the move is expected to address persistent land-related challenges in Nairobi while bringing essential services closer to the people.
