In the latest incident, security officers led by Juja OCPD Phylis Muthoni stormed a private residence at Kenyatta Road Estate on Tuesday, where an assortment of liquor brands were being packaged and sold as genuine products of established firms.
Juja Deputy County Commissioner Charles Muriithi said, "Drinks valued at over Ksh800,000 were netted and carted away."
The owner of the premises fled moments before police arrived.
Besides the drinks, police also recovered Kenya Revenue Authority stickers, an alcoholmeter and hundreds of branded cartons for various companies.
This comes in the wake of at least five other raids on illegal distilleries at private residences in the sub county over the last two months, raising concerns by genuine wines and spirits distillers who accuse the counterfeiters of subjecting consumers to grave danger besides running down their businesses.
Residents expressed concern over the proliferation of illicit drinks.
