Out of the 14 best candidates, 6 were female, where female candidates overall outshone their male counterparts in the English and Swahili subjects.
“Male candidates performed slightly better than their female counterparts in Kenyan Sign Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies & Religious Education,” stated Prof. Magoha.
A total of 1,214,031 candidates sat the examination nationwide, 610,384 (50.28%) of whom were boys and 603,647 (49.72%) girls.
Additionally, the CS noted that all the candidates will be admitted to various high schools, including those who were found with irregularities and were given zero points in those subjects.
"All of the children will transit to high school, you'll ask why yet some were caught colluding but the law says that if a child is found colluding in primary school for that subject they get zero, but they will pay for it," said Magoha.
He further annunced that 9,000 needy students from the slums and semi-arid areas will receive Form One Elimu Scholarships which will cater for their education expenses through Form Four.
