Kakamega High School rugby 15s head coach Amos Wamanga says they
are sharpening their attack ahead of next week’s Western region games.
Wamanga
is confident his team will be brave enough to fend off competition from their
opponents and reclaim the title they lost to Butula High School in last year’s
edition.
“I was impressed by the way we defended
against the strong opponents, what we need to improve on is our attack we need
to score more tries to kill of our opponents, that is what we are working on as
a team,” said Wamanga
Kakamega are pooled in a tough Group A
alongside Vihiga High School, Mundika Boys Secondary School, and Bungoma High
School, with Wamanga tipped his side to emerge on top.
“It is a very tough
pool with very good team some of them are familiar opponents we won't
underestimate any we will take one game at a time as we look forward to top the
group that is our aim,” added Wamanga
Pool B has Chavakali High School,
defending national champions Butula High School, and 2022 national champions
Koyonzo Boys and Kimobo Secondary.
“Very many team have
improved so much this season and believe me, the level of rugby we are going to
witness next week will be of high stands and rugby fans brace themselves
for some good entertainment,” the head coach told Citizen Digital
