Graduation ceremonies shrink Kenya Cup match day three to five fixtures

The Kenya Cup encounter between Masinde Muliro University of
Science and Technology (MMUST) and Daystar Falcons has been postponed following
the scheduling of graduation ceremonies at both institutions.
MMUST are set to graduate on Friday December 5 (today), just a day before the
Match Day Three weekend, making it impractical for the Kakamega-based side to
stage the fixture. Daystar University is also preparing for its own graduation,
leading to a mutual agreement to push the match to a later date.
As a result, the 2025/2026 Kenya Cup will roll into its third
round this weekend with only five matches, instead of the usual six. The Kenya
Rugby Union is expected to announce the new date for the MMUST versus Daystar
Falcons fixture in the coming days.
Defending champions Kabras Sugar will host Impala RFC at the ASK
Showground in Kakamega, while Menengai Oilers take on Kisumu RFC in Nakuru.
In Nairobi, KCB Rugby will face Strathmore Leos at the KCB
Sports Club in Ruaraka, and Nondescripts will entertain Nakuru RFC at the Ngong
Racecourse. The weekend action will wrap up with KU Blak Blad battling Kenya
Harlequin at Kenyatta University.
At the top of the standings, Menengai Oilers, Kabras Sugar, KCB
Rugby and Strathmore Leos are tied on 10 points apiece, separated only by
points difference.
Kenya Harlequin sit fifth on nine points after two wins but
missing out on one bonus point. Nondescripts occupy sixth spot with six points
following one win and a losing bonus.
KU Blak Blad are seventh on five points after registering a win and a losing bonus, while Nakuru RFC lie eighth with one point from two losses. Kisumu RFC, MMUST, Daystar Falcons and Impala RFC remain winless and are yet to register points this season after difficult starts to their campaigns.
