The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has not revised university entry grade upwards from a minimum grade of C+ to B.

This follows reports that under the ‘new guidelines’, boys seeking admission to universities are required to score an average of 62 points, whereas the cut off points for girls has been pegged at 61.

The claims were first shared online by a Facebook user, who further alleged that the report was from the placement body.

However, the placement institution denied the claims, flagging them as fake through its official Twitter page

“Advisory!! Beware of false information circulating in online forums. Information on student placement will be communicated officially through this page, the KUCCPS website and official social media pages. Kaa chonjo!,” said the body.

Additionally, there is no communication from the Ministry of Education regarding change of university entry points.
