A family in Ndalani, Yatta Sub County, has been left distraught after all their six sons and a nephew mysteriously become disabled in their teens.
Rael Mwikali's four sons' legs got paralysed while in Class Six; three of them can only move on a wheel-chair while the other gets support from an aid to carry him around.
Two others died while in their 20s, almost 10 years ago after living with the disability and developing health complications. The other is her nephew who has been living with the disability for years.
Mwikali who hails from Kwa Ndolo area in Ndalani has 12 children.

Her daughters are however in good health.

At first, Mwikali said she thought it was bad luck. However, as years went by and seeing the condition affect all her sons, she became distraught.

Benson Kinyae, a neighbour, said the family has endured name calling from villagers.
