  • Kisumu Central Sub-County police commander James Ngetich said the deceased was stabbed to death using a knife while the other is nursing stab wounds at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital.

A man died on Tuesday night while another is hospitalised in critical condition following a fight over a woman at a bar in Nyalenda slums pharmacy area in Kisumu.

Confirming the 11pm incident, Kisumu Central Sub-County police commander James Ngetich said the deceased was stabbed to death using a knife while the other is nursing stab wounds at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital.

The police boss said authorities are still trying to piece up what actually prompted the two to attack each other using knives.

Ngetich further confirms that the alleged woman at the centre of the brawl is yet to be identified and is still on the run.

The police commander cautioned the youth from engaging in drugs and substance abuse which is the main cause of such incidents, adding that authorities are concerned about how the two were already armed with knives.
