These are the countries you don’t need a visa to visit with a Kenyan passport
You might consider switching up your travel bucket list destinations if the latest data from The Henley Passport Index is anything to go by.
According to the global visa ranking website which released its 2021 Q4 Global Ranking report, the Kenyan passport is ranked 77th this year, with up to 72 destinations one can visit without a visa if traveling with it.
Here are the top destinations a Kenyan passport holder does not need a visa to visit:
- The British Virgin Islands
- Cayman Islands
Additionally, Kenyan passport holders can travel to the following destinations visa-free, but are required to get the visa upon arrival:
Across Africa, the Kenyan passport is ranked 8th, behind Seychelles, which has a visa-free score of 152, Mauritius (146), South Africa (103), Botswana (86), Namibia (78), Lesotho (77), and Malawi, with a score of 75.
Started in 2006, The Henley Passport Index (HPI) is a global ranking of countries according to the travel freedom of holders of their ordinary (not diplomatic).
It compares the visa-free access of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations. The number of countries that a specific passport can access becomes its visa-free 'score'.
The HPI also operates in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
