Former NTV anchor Winnie Mukami succumbs to COVID-19

The Kenyan media industry is once again in mourning following news of the death of former NTV anchor Winnie Mukami.

Mukami passed on at a city hospital where she was receiving treatment after contracting COVID-19.

She began her career at KBC where she served in different capacities before later joining NTV where she anchored the news during the station’s launch in 2003.

She left the media house in 2010 to steer her public relations firm, Winners Frontiers International Limited.

Mukami was then, in 2018, appointed to the Kenya Pipeline Company board where she served for three years.

Her death comes just days after yet another journalist, Robin Njogu, the Managing Editor of the Radio News section at Royal Media Services, succumbed to COVID-19 at the Aga Khan Hospital.
