Garissa: Man handed 25-year jail term for cutting off 7-year-old boy's neck

A court in Garissa on Wednesday sentenced a man to 25 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of killing a 7-year-old boy.

Before Lady Justice Abida Aroni, the prosecution through Job Mulati (ADPP) proved to the court that the blood-stained weapon which the accused was still in possession of was the one used to commit the heinous crime.

The 26-year-old, Liban Mohamed Sambul was charged with killing a 7-year-old boy by cutting off his neck.

According to the report by the Office of Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP), the accused committed the monstrous act while the boy was grazing goats with his friends in Tarbaj, Wajir County.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear.
