Sprinter ferdinand omanyala receives award

Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala has received an award for LG Sports Personality of The Month of September.

Ferdinand Omanyala, broke Africa’s record of 9.85 seconds in the 100m sprint by setting a new record of 9.77 seconds at the Kip-Keino classic-world Athletis continental Tour 2021 at Kasarani Stadium on September 18.

On receiving the LG sponsored award, Omanyala said he was looking forward to another great season next year.

“It is motivating seeing someone recognizing you and appreciating what you are doing. It means that you are doing something good, so I’m looking forward to a great season next year.”

“Thank you @lgeastafrica for honoring me as the Sports Personality of The Month,” Omanyala said.

Some of the nominees in the Sports Personality of the month category were: the late Agnes Tirop who set a new world record in the 10km race, Mercy moim who is the captain for Malkia strikers and Sharon chepchumba who is the opposite spiker for the Malkia strikers.
