Uhuru declares vacancy to replace the late Stephen Kirogo as PSC Chairperson
President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared a vacancy in the office of the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The announcement follows the death of Stephen Kirogo who died on May 14 this year at a Nairobi hospital.
The Head of State announced the vacancy, in a gazette notice dated August 23, 2021 in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 (2) of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017.
The Commission is mandated to oversee, among other things, the provision of competent human resource, good governance and efficiency as well as quality services in the public service.
In the meantime, the president has also declared vacancies in the offices of two members of the National Gender and Equality Commission as well as in the offices of Chairperson and four members of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.
