Fireboy DML is now the first Nigerian and Afrobeats artist to hit the number one spot in the UK Apple Music charts.

The singer posted the news while captioning Young Boys of Nigeria (YBNL), the record label he is currently signed to, referring to them as the best team in the world.

Fireboy DML released the remix of his song featuring English singer, Ed-Sheeran on December 24 2021, which immediately made it to the top trending list on social media.

The addition of Ed-Sheeran to the ‘Peru’ remix achieved global success, with the video hitting top charts on various streaming platforms including UK shazaam.

With barely three weeks out, the ‘Peru’remix official video currently has 20Million views on the streaming platform, YouTube.

Various top-rated artists took to Instagram to congratulate the Nigerian singer including fellow artist Adekunle Gold, super Nigerian producer Don Jazzy and Nigerian singer Joe boy.

Fireboy DML released the original version of ‘Peru’ in July 2021.
