Two suspects arrested as police uproot bhang from Machakos farm

Police in Yatta on Thursday apprehended two men for allegedly planting bhang at a farm in Kwa Nduki village, Kanyonyo Sub-location, Machakos County.

The suspects, believed to be part of a group of squatters referred to as Mivilani, had planted the illegal cannabis plants in their farm.

According to reports, the duo is also said to have been seeking to grab a piece of land in Yatta B2 Ranch belonging to a cooperative society.

Confirming the incident, Lower Yatta sub-county Police Commander Harriet Kanyi said the officers apprehended the suspects and uprooted the cannabis sativa plants popularly known as bhang.

The pair is behind bars as a probe into the incident is underway.
