Trans Nzoia: Two police officers found dead in Kiungani in suspected murder-suicide

Police in Kiminini in Transzoia County are investigating a potential murder and suicide involving a police couple. 

The two allegedly locked themselves inside their house in Kiungani Police station and shorty after, gun shots were heard. 

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

In the suspected case of murder and suicide, the police couple reportedly locked themselves inside the bedroom before gun shots were heard

 "Nikaskia risasi tatu zinalia tukafikiria ni askari wanafanya bunduki ndio tumejua wameuwana," Paul Mwangi, a neighbour told the media. 

It is reported that the deceased woman Dorcas Chebet had visited her husband Abel Andari who is based at the station on Sunday Morning. 

30 minutes later three gun shots were heard from the house.

 Transzoia Police Commander Jecinter Wesonga said she was overwhelmed by the incident involving young officers

According to the police boss, the two cops were in their late twenties, with a full life ahead of them.

Police are yet to establish the motive of the incident. A G3 rifle loaded with 20 rounds was found at the scene, fouur shots reportedly fired. 

Area residents have called on the government to investigate the growing and concerning cases of police committing such acts.
