Kabras near top after thrashing Mwamba
Kabras Sugar RFC moved closer to the top of the Kenya Cup thrashing Mwamba RFC 56-12 at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi yesterday.
The western-based side remains second on the log with 39 points after bagging a bonus point, five points behind leaders KCB RFC with two games in hand.
The Dominique Habimana charges scored ten tries converting three against Mwamba’s four penalties.
Number 10 Fijian born Kenyan international Jone Kubu and Jeanson Musoga scored three tries each for Kabras Sugar.
Fly-half Kubu got the ball from the rank after a one-two pass with Felix Ayange scoring the first try, missing the conversion to make it 7-0.
Kubu added the second within 10 minutes failing to add the extras while Derrick Ashiundu starting for the first time this season added his name in the scoreboard in the 15th minute to make it 17-0.
Winger Alfred Orege added the fourth try, Kubu converting it while Jeanson Musoga got the ball after a successful scrum dancing through Mwamba’s defense scoring inside the post, Kubu adding the extras to make it 29-0.
Mwamba scored two penalties from Brian Kivasia in the second half making it 29-6.
Kubu scored a brace missing the conversion to make it 34-6.
Mwamba’s Kivasia added their third dropkick after Kubu was sin-binned to make it 34-9 but Musoga brilliance made him add his second try of the day Brian Tanga missing the conversion.
Tanga scored his eighth try this season missing the conversion, Kubu coming back from being sin-binned adding his third try making it 51-9.
Mwamba’s Kivasia scored another penalty making it 51 – 12 Musoga completing his hat trick at full time to make it 56-12.
