Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been taken to court by a Kitui doctor over allegations that the county boss linked him with stealing oxygen cylinders from the government.

In a letter seen by Citizen Digital, Dr. Joshua Matu is, though his lawyers, accusing Ngilu of invading Matu’s private pharmacy, Marcus Pharmacy Limited, on October 15 and alleging that Matu had stolen oxygen cylinders from Kitui County Referral Hospital.

“...You falsely and maliciously uttered words in Kikamba language in which you stated ‘Dr. Matu stole oxygen cylinders from Kitui County Referral Hospital and took them to his hospital...’,” reads the letter.

Matu claims Ngilu’s comments “were maliciously made to injure his reputation as a professional doctor” and were made to “expose him to hatred, contempt, and ridicule in the eyes of the right-thinking members of the society and his employees.”

Matu wants the governor to apologize to the public and withdrawal the allegations.
