  • “Babu you’re a good man, that is what I would say sums it all. You have a heart of gold and I was able to see that.”
  • Fridah continues to say that she has a clear understanding of her husband’s background coming from the slum, which has played a vital role in shaping his perceived nature and character.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino’s wife Fridah Muthoni Ongoli has opened up on why she married the controversy-prone legislator and why she has continued to stick by his side despite his unending  antics.

In a candid interview on his Youtube channel- Babu Owino TV, the politician interviewed his wife, delving into matters politics, religion, business and life.

He gushes over his wife, describing her as a loving woman to him and a responsible mother to their children whilst Fridah described Babu as a coconut, soft for her on the inside.

“Babu you’re a good man, that is what I would say sums it all. You have a heart of gold and I was able to see that.”

Fridah continues to say that she has a clear understanding of her husband’s background coming from the slum, which has played a vital role in shaping his perceived nature and character.

“You are bound to pick up some things along the way that might shape a bit of who you are outwardly, but not change who you are at heart.”

Muthoni highlighted that she is in awe of how Babu works with people out of his kindness and goodness as she listed philanthropic gestures done by the legislator.

Despite being put on the spotlight, Fridah did not stutter when asked about her educational background.

“I went to Lions Primary School in Embu where I performed excellently with 443/500 in KCPE, and then I joined Loreto High School in Limuru where I scored an A minus in KCSE. I thereafter joined The University Of Nairobi where I pursued a bachelor in Economics.“

She added that she also did Certified Public Accounting alongside a course in Business Management while still at the university. Babu’s wife later joined employment, got into entrepreneurship and started her own business.

Her first job was an Internship and was later employed at local I&M Bank.

Unable to pursue her passion and desire for fashion, she decided to leave employment and start her own fashion brand.

“After employment, I decided to do the things that set my soul on fire. For me, that is fashion. I don’t take it for granted. To be able to have my business and do what I love every single day, is truly a blessing.”

Muthoni spoke on her fashion brand saying it focuses on ladies clothing and accessories for the empowered woman who knows who she is and knows what she wants.

“If you look good, you feel good. It is more than a fashion brand. I want women to look good both in the inside and the outside. That is why I talk a lot about God, to inspire and motivate a generation of women.”

Fridah says she does her best to live up to and exceed expectations of those who look up to her.

She adds that she endeavors everyday to be a Proverbs 31 woman as the standard she has set for herself.
