Human Wildlife Conflict In Maralal

Elijah Letakai, a farmer in Yamo village bordering Maralal Sanctuary, said he was hoping to harvest some maize but he found all of his crops destroyed by the wild animals.

Letakai urged the Kenya Wildlife Services to take care of wild animals to avert further destruction.

Cases of crop destruction by wildlife animals have been on the rise in Samburu in the recent past.

The KWS manager has requested the farmers whose crops were destroyed to report to his office and fill compensation forms in order to be compensated.
