Covid-19: Eastleigh Business Community shuts down all shops, malls indefinitely
The Eastleigh Business Community has now resolved to close down all businesses in the area until further notice as a means of combating the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The community, through their Secretary General Omar Hussein, said they had undertaken the move without notice so as to avoid panic shopping by the residents which would lead to disregarding of government directives on social distancing.
“This is necessary since coronavirus is real and most of the people in the malls are not following the regulations set up by the government,” said Hussein.
They also asked the government to begin fumigation of the streets and garbage collection as they will be urging their people to stay at home.
The Eastleigh Business Community further wants the government to start mass testing for Covid-19 in the area since their population is relatively high.
