Gov’t Appeals against Suspension of 8 Clauses in the Controversial Security Laws

The government’s legal team and lawyers for the coalition for reforms and democracy yesterday engaged in the battle of wits over a court’s move to suspend 8 clauses in the recently enacted security laws. This was during an appeal by Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai who is challenging the high court order suspending the 8 clauses last week. The court of appeal will give its ruling on the matter on 23rd January. Alex Kubasu reports
