Ambani promises to turn around Wazito fortunes
Interim Wazito coach Fred Ambani has promised to turn around the team’s fortunes after guiding them to a 2-1 win in his first match in charge at the weekend.
Wazito who have lost several players due to financial constraints, won their third match this season against Nzoia Sugar thanks to Michael Owino and James Kinyajui goals.
Ambani, a former Harambee Stars forward who took over after the dismissal of Francis Kimanzi said that the boys impressed him in the few days he's worked with them stressing the need to bounce back to winning ways.
"Immediately I took over the boys shown me that they are up to the task, it is only some few technicalities (that needs to be addressed) but we will rise," said the ex-international.
On their game plan against manager-less Nzoia, Ambani who had only a day of training with the boys before facing the Sudi-based side said that taking their chances early on in the game worked to their advantage.
And with the mid-season transfer window still open, Ambani says he’s yet to have discussions with the management over possible additions to the squad
"I believe in working with what I have for now, but if we are to bring new faces then they’ll be very few."
Wazito travel to Mombasa to face Bandari on Thursday before a rematch three days later in Nairobi.
They are placed 15th in the 18-team table with only 12 points after 14 round of matches.
