Jubilee Party expels Soy MP Caleb Kositany as Deputy SG
Jubilee Party has expelled Soy MP Caleb Kositany as Deputy Secretary General.
A statement from his boss Raphael Tuju said the decision followed a meeting of the National Management Committee on Monday.
“Hon. Joshua Kutuny, MP for Cherangany is the new Deputy Secretary General of the Jubilee Party,” the statement reads.
During an interview with Citizen TV Kenya on the Monday Report news segment, MP Kositany said he had been expecting his ouster.
According to him, the decision to remove him came about because he is not a ‘Yes man’.

He averred that he is a leader who speaks his mind and this apparently did not augur well with some top Jubilee party officials.
“I think Jubilee just wanted people who can sing to the tune irrespective of whose or how ugly the tune is,” he said.
When asked why he did not vacate the post despite knowing that his ouster was imminent, the Soy MP responded saying:
“How else would people have known that Jubilee has become a monologue party, a party that has no respect for democracy, no respect for the truth. It has become a crime to speak the truth in the Jubilee party.”
Kositany insisted that he should have been given an opportunity to explain why he often disagreed with the Secretary General’s decisions and some party positions which according to him were not official.
He opined that the Jubilee party became democratic following the much publicized handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2018.
“We have seen a lot of chest thumping and disrespect for the rule of law. It is sad that this is what has become of the Jubilee party,” Kositany said, adding that he would not appeal his ouster as Deputy SG.
“Goodbye Jubilee I’m now an active member of the UDA party and I think I find a better home there,” he said.
