Leopards keen to end Ulinzi Stars’ run

Assistant coach Tom Juma is confident his side has prepared very well and now their main mission is to return to winning ways after registering a disappointing two successive defeats in the hands of Gor Mahia and Bandari FC.

AFC Leopards are hoping for a positive result when they host the high flying Ulinzi Stars in a league tie at Nyayo National Stadium tomorrow (Friday.

Assistant coach Tom Juma is confident his side has prepared very well and now their main mission is to return to winning ways after registering a disappointing two successive defeats in the hands of Gor Mahia and Bandari FC.

“As usual, we are preparing just like other matches and at the end of the day it’s three points that matters. So I can say that the boys are in high spirits with an aim of trying to register a positive result.

“We have been playing very well in all the matches this season including those that we lost- against Gor Mahia and Bandari but we now just have to be positive,” Juma stated.

However, the Leopards legend has warned that the Soldiers won’t be an easy side to crack since they are among the only four teams yet to concede defeat this season alongside Gor, Kakamega Homeboyz and FC Talanta.

“No, we can’t lean on the fact that Ulinzi have not beaten us for a very long time because this time round, it's different considering the challenges we have been going through. They have started the season very well because they are among the top teams on the log as we speak. This time, Ulinzi are more solid than last season,” Juma underscored.

Ulinzi have so far registered two wins against Nzoia Sugar and Mathare United with a draw against Bidco United while Leopards have won once, pulled a draw and two losses.

Ingwe are sitting 12th on the 18-team standings on four points with Ulinzi positioned at sixth on seven points.
