Bidco pile more misery on Leopards

  • Victory marked the fifth straight defeat for Leopards, a result that will pile pressure on the head coach Patrick Aussems

Emmanuel Mogaka came off the bench to net the winner as Bidco United edge AFC Leopards 1-0 during Saturday’s clash at the Thika Municipal Stadium.

Victory marked the fifth straight defeat for Leopards, a result that will pile pressure on the head coach Patrick Aussems.

The visitors had the chance to snatch a point late in stoppage time only for Washington Munene to send his penalty kick off the mark.

Bidco were the first to test their opponents with David Kalama’s free-kick forcing Levis Opiyo to a good save.

Leopards had their own turn when Fasanmi Ojo was teed up neatly but the new signing could only send his effort over the crossbar.

Peter Nzuki made a superb goal-line clearance to deny Leopards just minutes before half-time with the goalkeeper Brian Opondo well beaten.

Aussems made a double substitution in the 61st minute with Maxwell Otieno and Dan Sunguti replacing Eugine Mukangula and Brian Wanyama with the Belgian tactician desperate to see his side apply more attacking pressure on the opposition.

New recruit Ojo Olayini was also forced out through an injury with Boniface Mukhekhe taking his place but it was Bidco’s sub Mogaka who made the difference.

Leopards next host Posta Rangers at Kasarani on Thursday while Bidco entertain Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday.
