Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol bags their third AFRIMA Award for best African Group

  • This latest award makes it their third AFRIMA award after also winning in the best group category in 2015 and 2019.
  • The band which consists of Bien-Aime Baraza, Delvin Mudigi, Willis-Ausin Chimano and Polycarp Otieno, took to their social media pages to post a thank you message to their fans.

The latest award makes it their third AFRIMA award, having bagged  the best group category in 2015 and 2019.

The band which comprises  Bien-Aime Baraza, Delvin Mudigi Savara, Willis-Ausin Chimano and Polycarp Otieno, took to their social media pages to post a thank you message to their fans and the AFRIMA fraternity.

“Thank you so much for the award that we’ve won tonight, you guys have been amazing. We thank our fans, we thank each other, we thank the whole AFRIMA fraternity…also for everybody who voted for us, we don’t take it for granted.”

The boy band also announced that their album is expected to launch soon, asking their fans to stay tuned. 

“New album coming soon so stay tuned…” Sauti sol said.

Other African bands nominated under the best group category were: Ajebo Hustlers ft. Omah Lay (Nigeria), B2C (Kampala Boys) ft. Lutalo (Uganda), Blaq Diamond (South Africa), Calema ft. Pérola, Soraia Ramos & Manecas Costa (Sao Tome and Principe), Cavemen (Nigeria), Chelsy & Nsoki (Angola), Mi Casa (South Africa), The Isomers (Nigeria) and Toofan (Togo).

The AFRIMA awards were held in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday 21.
