Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Thursday confirmed that the three terror convicts who had escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison were heading to Garissa County.

"It is because we have worked as a team that we have been able to succeed. I want to thank Kenyans for the information they have shared which has led to this success," Mutyambai said.

He further urged cooperation from Kenyans to hand over any necessary information regarding matters security.

"I want to appeal to Kenyans that we keep vigil and whatever you get of security importance we work together," said the IG.

He urged all State investigative agencies to bring every person found to have been involved in the prison break to full account.
