Wazalendo beaten again at ACCC in Ghana

Wazalendo lost 1-0 to Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) on Thursday, falling to a second successive defeat at the African Cup for Club Championships (ACCC) in Accra, Ghana.

The Kenyans had opened their campaign with a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Zamalek and were hoping to bounce back against the hosts who finished runners-up in 2018.

Defeat meant Wazalendo, who sit bottom of Pool B, are now unable to progress from the group stages to the next round of the continental championship.

Arthur Ebenezer scored the winner for GRA in the 18th minute of the mid-day clash staged at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium.

The group leader and second-placed team will join their Pool A counterparts in the semi-finals scheduled for Sunday.

Wazalendo will face newcomers Tairat on Saturday, in their last Pool B fixture.
