Sonko's youngest daughter Sandra nominated for top African award
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's youngest daughter, Sandra Mbuvi, has been nominated as the Brand influencer of the year, in the upcoming Scream Africa Women Awards.
Sonko, through a post on his Instagram on Monday, wrote a congratulatory message to his daughter, who boasts a following of 50.1k followers on the app.
“Dear Sandra Mbuvi, your hard work finally paid off. I feel so proud of my daughter, congratulations on your nominations as Brand Influencer of the Year.” said the former governor.
“Your achievements and creativity has done all this. May you bag this,"
And on Tuesday, the former governor posted a follow-up message, thanking everyone who participated in voting for Sandra Mbuvi.
"Good morning watu wangu. I’d like to thank you all of you who took time to vote for my daughter. Asanteni sana.”
The full nomination list for Scream Awards Brand Influencer of the Year consists of: Nengi Hampson (Nigeria), Mercy Eke (Nigeria), Sandra Mbuvi (Kenya), Scarlett Duchess (Nigeria), Zari Hassan (Uganda), Fahyvanny (Tanzania), Naija Brandchick (Nigeria), Uriel Oputa (Nigeria).
The 2021 edition of Scream African Women Awards is focused on creating awareness as well as combating gender violence in the African society.
Musician Tanasha Donna is the second and last Kenyan nominated for the Scream African Women Awards under the category of Musician of the year.
Tanasha is nominated alongside Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Shomadjozi (South Africa), Tems (Nigeria), Busiswa (South Africa), Makhadzi (South Africa), Gyakie (Ghana), Teni (Nigeria), Kamo Mpela (South Africa) and Lady Du (South Africa).
