15 Nairobi Aviation College Students Released

This follows an application by advocate Sylvester Mukele acting for the students for a review of the bail and bond terms.

The high court has reviewed the terms on the basis that the initial terms were stringent and punitive to students who are not working and are supposed to be in school which in session.

One accused person was however released on a free bond after it emerged he’s a cart-rider and not a student.

On 3rd Feb 2014 Resident Magistrate Mrs. Mariam Mugure had released the students on a cash bail of Ksh.200,000 with an alternative bond of Ksh 400,000 each.

The terms have however been reviewed under Section 362 of the criminal procedure of Kenya Laws.

The students were charged with assault, malicious damage and participating in an unlawful assembly.

The case will be mentioned at the lower court on the16th of April.
