West Ham make contact with United outcast Sanchez

West Ham ‘have been in contact with Alexis Sanchez’s agent’ over a potential move for the Chilean winger this summer.

Sanchez is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Manchester United but has struggled to make much of an impact in Italy amid recurring injury issues.

 The 31-year-old has played in just 15 matches for Antonio Conte’s team, scoring just once, and Inter have no desire to keep hold of him beyond this season.

According to FC Inter News, Inter can’t consider buying Sanchez outright from United because of his Sh2.5billion a-year wage packet.

The report suggests that West Ham have contacted Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich for ‘information’ on his availability, though that is the extent of their interest so far.

However, Sanchez earns sh52million weekly at United and West Ham are unlikely to match that, meaning the player will have to take a substantial pay cut.

Even during his loan at Inter, United have been paying £300,000-a-week of that sum with the Serie A club contributing £100,000.

There is also reported interest from the Bundesliga in Sanchez, who needs a fresh start to reinvigorate a career that well and truly lost its way at Old Trafford.
