Noose tightens on KSF officials as DCI make subsequent raid

The Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) Secretary General Winnie Kamau’s Nairobi apartment has been raided by Directorate Criminal Investigation officers barely two weeks after KSF president Ben Ekumbo suffered the same fate.

The CID officers then conducted an intensive four-hour search of Kamau’s house before she was whisked away to their Kiambu headquarters at 3:00pm (+3 GMT).

Finer details of the raid remain unclear as journalists remained strictly barred from accessing the scene although Citizen Digital and TV crew tailed the two vehicles that escorted her and witnessed her alight with a huge bag branded with the Kenyan flag in tow.

In their earlier raid of Ekumbo’s home, the DCI uncovered and confiscated cartons of Nike kit, with the National Olympics Committee of Kenya (Nock) Second Vice Chairman now facing multiple counts of theft.
