Wadi Deglas 3bn Migaa facility to have Arsenal academy

Egyptian lifestyle and sports club developer Wadi Degla officially broke ground on a Ksh3b development at Migaa in Kiambu County where an academy that partners with English Premier League giants, Arsenal will be located.

Wadi Degla also plans to put up a world class FIFA approved football field at Migaa in the latter phases of the project.

The stadium will enable the smooth operation of the Arsenal football academy, while also providing access to world-class facilities for local players.

“Our sports facilities are targeted to enhance the family experience, hence the creation of an all encompassing sports and lifestyle element, with professional management and professional staff,” Engineer Adel Samy who is the president of Adi Degla Holdings said.

The development is the single largest private investment in sporting and lifestyle facilities in Kenya in the recent past and involves developing the front nine holes and management of the Migaa Golf Course, building of a club house and related facilities as well as setting a sports academy.

Samy, underscored the need to ensure a healthy lifestyle and how it is beneficial for a country’s economy during the groundbreaking ceremony at the site on Wednesday.

“Our work in Egypt confirms the synergy between health and wealth. If you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need. This development at Migaa will complement the healthy lifestyles over 5000 families that are initially set to live around this development once it is complete,” he added.

Migaa residents will have access to the facilities after they signed a memorandum of understanding to guarantee this early in 2015.
