Vihiga eye FKF-PL top half after upsetting Gor

Vihiga United secretary Wycliffe Luvavo believes the team has what it takes to finish among top 10 teams in the FKF Premier League campaign this season.

Vihiga pulled off the upset of the FKF-PL weekend after defeating Gor Mahia FC 1-0 on Saturday at Kasarani Stadium thanks to David Wafula’s late strike.

Luvavo expressed his satisfaction on the win adding that the result against champions Gor achieved away from home was a big achievement for the boys urging them to continue ‘fighting’.

“That was a fantastic performance from the boys and we thank the head coach Sammy Okoth for preparing them well. They should continue with the same spirit when they host Sofapaka in our next fixture.

Following round nine of the league action, KCB top the standings with 21 points one ahead of Tusker and four ahead of Wazito who occupied the second and third positions respectively as Afc Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks wrap up the top five with 15 points apiece.
