Ulinzi Starlets coach Wambua chuffed at Kibera win, targets Mathare scalp

Ulinzi Starlets head coach Joseph Wambua has hailed his charges after they hammered Kibera Ladies 5-1 in a Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) Zone A encounter played at Ligi Ndogo grounds in Nairobi on Sunday January 10.

Eveline Juma grabbed a brace for Ulinzi while Gentrix Uyudi , Neddy Atieno and Emily Auma   each scored to seal the win.

In a phone interview with Citizen Digital, club head coach Joseph Wambua said the win was inspired by utilizing the chances created.

“In our first match against Thika Queens which we lost 2-1 I told my strikers to work hard in utilizing the clear-cut chances created something which they improved on in our second match which we won 3-1against Kayole Ladies as well the weekend win.”

“My worry now is with my defence department, we have conceded 4 goals already, in each game we’ve conceded a goal, some of them were as a result of poor defending by my players. That is something which I will work on going into our next fixture against Mathare United this weekend,” explained the tactician.

He added: “Kibera wasn’t an easy team; they created some good chances but failed to utilize them. They have a great coach and it’s my believe that they will get into the right track going forward. I want to congratulate my girls for a job well done so far, our aim is to clinch the title and I believe we shall achieve that if we continue working hard,” he said.
