Ulimwengu double gives Gor lift at Bandari

A brace from Burundian Jules Ulimwengu and a Nicolas Kipkirui solo goal were enough to hand reigning champions Gor Mahia an important win while host Bandari got their consolation goal from captain Bernard Odhiambo.

The hosts started the game on a higher tempo but they had to wait until quater past when they got their first chance when Yema Mwana’s shot was tipped out by Gor Mahia goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch.

Gor Mahia in the other end had Clifton Miheso causing alarm in Bandari’s goal with his shot kissing the side net.

Bandari’s defence mixed up and failed to clear a through pass only for Jules Ulimwengu to tap in pass Justin Ndikumana for the opening goal for the visitors in the 35th minute of the game.

It took only two minutes for Bandari captain Bernard Odhiambo to equalise with a powerful header connecting Abdallah Hassan corner.

Ulimwengu waste no chance to score his second of the day collecting a poor clearance from Justin Ndikumana taking Kogalo to the break with a 2-1 lead.

Bandari coach Andre Casa Mbungo introduces Alphonce Washe and Johanna Mwita as his counterpart Vaz Pinto introduced Nicolas Kipkirui and Tito Okello as they search for another goal.

They had to wait until the last added minute when Kipkirui made no mistake to wrap their important win after being fed by his captain Keneth Muguna.
