Shujaa shift gears to Cape Town 7s after Dubai heartache

After a catastrophic outing at the Dubai Sevens, the Kenya rugby sevens team Shujaa will shift focus to the second leg of the 2019/2020 HSBC World Series – Cape Town Sevens – which takes place this weekend in Cape Town, South Africa.

Paul Feeney coached Shujaa are in Pool D alongside Ireland, Australia, and Samoa.

In Dubai, Shujaa won only one match against Scotland (26-14) in the 13th place playoff after losing all their Pool C matches against Dubai Sevens champions South Africa (17-12), England (12-5) and Spain (22-19).

In Cape Town, Shujaa will start their campaign with a clash against Samoa at 5.59 pm on Friday December 13 before playing two matches on Saturday December 14 starting with Australia at 11.57 am before facing Ireland at 5.47 pm (EAT).

They are currently at number 13 in the overall HSBC standings after collecting four points in Dubai over the weekend.

Hosts and recently crowned Dubai champions South Africa are in Pool A  with USA, Fiji and Japan while Pool B features New Zealand, Argentina, Canada and Wales as England, France, Spain and Scotland set up Pool C.
