Shikangwa the heroine as Starlets hit five past Burundi

Ruthless Harambee Starlets stormed the final of the ongoing Cecafa Women Senior Championship on Saturday evening, after hammering Burundi 5-0 in the first semifinal, in Dar es Salaam.

Vihiga Queens stiker Jenrix Shikangwa was the star of the match grabbing a brace in the 54th and 77th minutes as skipper Dorcas Sikobe (14), Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Adam (71) and Corazone Acquino added one each to complete the party.

The win extends Starlets perfect record of four wins in the four matches played so far in the tournament, without conceding a goal.

The David Ouma coached team will now face Tanzania, the holders who dispatched Uganda 1-0 in the second semi final.

Kisumu All Starlets’ Mercy Airo who has struck four goals having played consecutive matches against Djibouti and Uganda, was suspended after accumulating two yellow cards during the preliminary stage.

The  final will be staged on Monday in Chamanzi, Tanzania.
