Sharks out to maul Zoo but the stats make for an agonising read

Kariobangi Sharks tactician William Muluya has said his team’s goal is to get maximum points from Zoo Kericho when the two sides collide this weekend.

Sharks were frustrated to a 1-1 draw at the Sudi Stadium against Nzoia Sugar last weekend and Muluya is bullish that his boys can fire on all cylinders in their Sunday assignment in Kericho.

“We really need to score goals, my boys are not giving me what I want, we need to push hard in our next assignment against Zoo, we have to pocket the three points at any cost,” he said.

Sharks have just managed a single win so far that came early this month against struggling Chemelil when the  ‘Slum Boys’ beat the sugar millers 2-0 away in Chemelil.

The Wiliam Muluya coached side has drawn four times and lost twice so far (W1, D4, L2) after seven matches of their 2019/20 campaign in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

Sharks have failed to win their last three competitive fixtures against higher ranked sides than themselves, each of this featured under 1.5 match goals.

Zoo Kericho has had a poor run in this season’s campaign; the struggling side has only managed a single win that came in early September after the side beat Chemelil 3-1 at home.

They have drawn one match and lost five so far (W1, D1, L5).

Notably, Zoo has failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last seven games, the opening goal was struck within 20 minutes in three of those matches.

Stat attack: five of Sharks last seven matches produced under 2.5 goals. They have however failed to score a goal in four of the seven matches but notably the side has kept a clean sheet in three of those seven matches.
