Posta rue missed chances in Bandari stalemate

Posta Rangers head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has told his attackers to be more clinical in front of goal following their 1-1 stalemate against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

After going in front early, Posta allowed Bandari to claw back and then wasted opportunities to retake their lead and collect maximum points from the midweek Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash.

It was a crucial point against decent opposition but Pamzo was left pained by the amount of chances his charges simply failed to put away, stretching their winless run to three matches.

“We could have won this match but unfortunately we could not utilize all our chances. I am happy though because this gives us motivation as we look forward to our next assignment because Bandari has one of the best players in the country right now and snatching something here is really positive,” he said

Pamzo was quick to note that they’ll be going for all maximum points on Sunday when they host new comers Kisumu All Stars.

On the other hand, Bandari’s assistant coach Nasoro Mwakoba decried of fatigue in their 1-1 draw.

Speaking in the absence of head coach Bernard Mwalala who ran away from the pitch few minutes to the final whistle, Nasoro noted that their Caf Confederations participation could have had a negative impact when they hosted Posta.

“Our legs are definitely tired. You could see it from my players that most of them had torn legs but we take a point,” he said.

Mwalala made only one change from the squad that faces USB Guardane with goalscorer Shaban Kenga coming in for Dan Guya.

Bandari have a trip to Machakos on Sunday as they face Sofapaka who they beat 2-0 at the same venue last season whereas Posta Rangers will hope to register their only second win of the season in the hands of Kisumu All Stars.
