Ouna relaxed as KPL promotion chase enters D-Day

Ushuru FC, Vihiga United and Wazito FC take the top flight promotion race down to the wire as the 2017 National Super League (NSL) braces for a gripping finale on Saturday.

With KCB FC mathematically unable to attain a top two finish requisite to earn automatic qualification to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) next season, promotion focus will be on the leading trio.

Ushuru who are on 78 points and Vihiga United (77) will be involved in a grand fixture as top meets second at the Mumias Sports Complex with a result of any kind likely to favour Wazito (77) should they win their match against Kenya Police (50) at the Narok County Stadium.

Despite the magnitude of the tie, Wazito Coach Frank Ouna said his charges will treat the crunch clash as just ‘another game’ and warned his charges against getting burdened by the pressure of the occasion.

“It is just another game of football but I must show respect to Kenya Police because I know they are a tough side,” Ouna told Citizen Digital.

KCB tackle Modern Coast Rangers at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds and have the faint possibility of finishing third should they score at least 7 goals and Wazito lose.

The scenario offers a glimmer of hope for the Bankers as it could put them in frame for a promotion play-offs match against the KPL’s 16th finisher.
