Otieno signs contract extension to hand Gor massive boost

Gor Mahia have been handed a massive shot in the arm after right back Philemon Otieno penned a new deal with the club.

The new deal should see him don the green jersey upto January 2022.

Otieno has been out of action after going under the knife in August last year following a knee injury he sustained while on national duty with Harambee Stars.

At the same time, lanky forward Edwin Lavatsa has made a shock return to the club. His return marks a reunion with the club, seven years after  leaving the outfit.

Lavatsa is joined at the club by Ugandan striker Juma Balinya from Yanga SC of Tanzania, midfielder Nicholas Omondi from NSL side Kibera Black Stars, left back Michael Abudo (Posta Rangers), Ghanaian Jackson Owusu( Asante Kotoko , Ghana) and NSL top scorer Clinton Okoth from NSL side Migori Youth.

Also promoted to the team are Gor Mahia Youth FC products defender Alphonse Omija and midfielder Chris Alpha Onyango.
